Anna Mae (Roles) & John (Creswell) Cresswell
Anna Mae Roles and John (Creswell) Cresswell, parents to Donald Lee, Irwin (Chris) Dall and Beverly Ann. My mother was born in Emporia, Kansas, and father born in Londonderry, Ireland.
Dad left Ireland when he was nineteen years old, he was raised by his Aunt and Uncle after his parents had passed away. His brothers and sisters were all scattered with different relatives and the girls were in and orphanage. He had no contact with any of the siblings from the time he was little until the year that he retired, a relative in Iowa that he had worked for when he first came to the United States found his sisters. After he retired my parents took a trip to Ireland and meet all that they could find of the relatives. Dad found out that he had a brother that had followed him when he left Ireland and lived the rest of his years in Canada and had passed away a few years prior to Dads retirement.
My mother was raised by her grandmother after her parents died when she was very young, she had two sisters Ethel and Elsie. Her father worked for the railroad as well as at the collage during the summer cleaning windows, he passed away when the window casing gave way and he fell. Her mother died of what they said was a sun stroke.
They met when my father was driving a truck and mom was a waitress. They were married and later moved to Nebraska which is where my sister and brothers were born. Later they moved to California and dad had a gas station in Burbank. He worked most of his life for Lockheed Aircraft and was a Power Brake Operator. Mom went to work for Lockheed Aircraft also during the war, she worked in Electrical Check-out. They both retired from Lockheed at the same time and moved to Medosto, California.
After a few years mom got sick and had to be taken to the hospital, we found out later that she had an aneurysm. Mom was put into the hospital and had tests run then scheduled for surgery. Before the surgery could be done she went into a com. She was in the coma for about a month and then transferred to Indio where my brother was living. Dad stayed with my brother Irwin until the weather got very hot and then he came to Simi Valley and lived with me. He told me that he had to get out of Indio before he turned into a dried up prune.
Dad stayed with me for a few years and then got his own place, a moble home in Simi Valley. The hospital that Mom was in stopped being a extended care facility and mom had to be moved to another hospital in Reseda. She stayed in that facility for a couple of years before she passed away.
