HERE IS A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I was born in California many years ago, to a wonderful family. I have
two older brothers and there was a sister that died at birth, she was the
first child. I have never lived in any state except California, all but
the last year was spent in Southern California in the Los Angeles area.
I have traveled a bit in the United States but have never seen very much
of the east coast, some day I would enjoy seeing that part of the country
and see the changing of the colors. I have also traveled to England and
Ireland to meet some of my relatives, my father was born in Londonderry
Ireland.I got married almost a year after I graduated High school to a
wonderful man that was in my class. We had known each other for all three
years of school but didn't date until the very end of our senior year.
When we married everyone told us that we would not last, well I have news
for all of them. On May 15th of 1998 we celebrated 33 wonderful years of
marriage. We both retired from our jobs on September 1, 1998 and we moved
to northern California on October 11, 1998. We both loved the area, the
temperature is much cooler than Los Angeles, and because of all the rain
it is so green and lush. On December 13th 1998 my husband had a heart attack
and passed away. I was very happy that he at least had two wonderful months
to enjoy the area and at least three months of retirement.
Eleven months after our marriage we had a beautiful baby girl, she
was born on April 7th and was 8lbs 9oz. Then eighteen months later we had
a beautiful baby boy, he was born on October 28th and was 7lbs 13oz. We
had a bit of a scare after the birth of our son, when he was born it was
a state law for all babies to have a blood test before they leave the hospital.
The blood test was for PKU which is phenylketonria a form of mental retardation.
Well he turned out just fine, the doctors used him for some studies and
at the time he had the highest count of any child that was taken off diet
and remained normal. I later was pregnant again, but had some trouble with
the pregnancy and lost the baby at just over 6 months, it was a baby girl.
Her name was Frances Ann, she was born on September 15, 1971 after I had
been in and out of labor several times. We made up our minds that we were
not going to have any more children after that one.
Well I have a wonderful daughter-in-law and five beautiful grandchildren,
three girls and two boys. My daughter has the girls they are Nichelle 14,
Hannah 6, and Summar 4. My son and his wife have the two boys John 12 and
Justin 7. They surprised me just recently with a wonderful picture of all
of the grandchildren together. I wish that their grandfather was around
to see it, he was always so proud of them.
Last December I met a very nice man on the internet his name is Joe.
We have met in person several times since then and I really enjoy being
with him. He is less than three months older than I am at lives in Oakland
which is about 300 miles from where I live. He came up to visit me durning
the Jazz Festival that was held in Eureka at the end of March.

MY HOBBIES
Hobbies, I have a lot of different things that I like to do. I
am a crafter and have not been one for sticking to just one thing. I work
on whatever holds my interest for the time and then seem to move on to
another for a while. I do manage to get back to my projects at some time.
At the present time I have been quilting, I have a class on Tuesday mornings
and find this very relaxing.

You might just say that I love to work with my hands, I also enjoy
computers. I built my own computer from components less than two
years ago, I still have a lot to learn about computers.

FAVORITE MUSIC
Music has always been a part of my life, my husband always had music
playing. He would always know who did what song, the label, year
it was released and lots of other trivia about music. I was lucky to find
out the name of a song and tell him I liked it, only to be told that we
have had it for the last six months or so. I enjoy Oldies, Jazz, New Age,
R & B, and my favorite is Country. Through the years we drifted
in and out of country, but to me the country songs tell stories about real
life experiences they are easy to listen to and I love the beat.
